WhatsApp message Forwarded Tag: How to forward without ‘Forwarded’ tag?

There is a secret trick within WhatsApp that allows you to remove the ‘Forwarded’ tag every time you forward a message. Here’s how.

For some time, WhatsApp integrated functionality within the application in which a ‘Forwarded’ label appears every time a message, be it text, image, video, GIF, link or sticker, is forwarded from one chat to another. This tool fulfils a specific objective, identifies spam messages and fake news, and prevents the virtualization of fake messages.

There are two types of labels that say ‘Forwarded’ and ‘Forwarded many times’. The first one refers to when a message has only been shared once or twice, while the second appears when it has been shared too many times, which could mean that it is spam or fake news.

And although the ‘Forwarded’ label has an important function within WhatsApp, the truth is that many people do not like it to appear all the time. For that reason, here we show you how to hide it so that your forwarded messages no longer give themselves away every time you share them from one chat to another.

WhatsApp message Forwarded’ tag.

Videos and photos

This first method works for video, photo and audio messages. For example, if you received some funny multimedia content, such as a meme and you want all your friends to laugh along with you, but without them knowing that you forwarded it, this is what you have to do:

1. Open WhatsApp from your phone and go to the chat where the message or file is located.

2. Press and hold on to the message for one second.

3. An options menu will open at the top of the screen; select the icon with the three vertical dots.

4. Now, choose the option that says ‘Share’.

5. Select WhatsApp and then the contact you want to forward the message to.

6. Click on the ‘Send’ icon, and that’s it. Your message will have been forwarded but without the ‘Forwarded’ tag.

Messages and links

In the case of links and text messages in WhatsApp, the procedure changes a bit, but it is not complicated.

1. Open WhatsApp from your phone and go to the chat where the message or file is located.

2. Press and hold on to the message for one second.

3. An options menu will open at the top of the screen; select the icon with the three vertical dots.

4. Now, choose the option that says ‘Copy’.

5. Go back to the beginning of the application.

6. Select the contact you want to forward the message to, and in their conversation, press for a second on the bar to write messages.

7. Select the ‘Paste’ option, click on ‘Send’, and you’re done.

In this way, you can have control of your forwarded messages and choose which ones you want to have the label and which ones not
