Samsung M8 monitor Releases a monitor that’s a shameless copy of the iMac

Samsung M8 monitor just introduced a monitor that’s virtually identical to Apple’s M1-chip iMac.

Samsung has just released a new monitor that follows the design lines we saw in Apple’s iMac . While it may be a more direct competition to the new Display Studio, this “Smart Monitor M8” looks much more like the colorful M1-chip iMac that Apple released a year ago. It’s a 32-inch 4K monitor that offers USB-C connectivity, AirPlay compatibility, and various Smart TV features baked into its design.

The Smart Monitor M8 features a flat 4K UHD LCD panel that delivers 400 nits of brightness, 60Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and adaptive picture technology that automatically adjusts the brightness and temperature of screen color for visual comfort, similar to Apple’s True Tone.

The monitor body is 11.4mm thick, that is, it is only 0.1mm thinner than Apple’s iMac . We have a flat back, slim frames, and a height-adjustable stand with tilt function. The monitor has Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 wireless connectivity, a micro HDMI port and two USB-C ports, one of which offers 65W charging. It has two 5W speakers cameras and a detachable magnetic 1080p SlimFit webcam.

Samsung goes back to old ways, even copying colors

As for colors, we have four: Sunset Pink, Spring Green, Daylight Blue and Warm White. They are the exact same colors that Apple offers in its entry iMac line, Blue, Green, Pink and Silver, offering Yellow, Orange and Purple colors in higher versions.

This isn’t the first time Samsung has taken inspiration from one of Apple’s devices or any of its services, in fact both companies had lengthy patent lawsuits for copying the iPhone . In this case, Apple has again set a design trend and it’s no surprise that we see many monitors similar to the new iMac.

Samsung mocks Apple for the new green color of its iPhone 13

At least in this case, Samsung didn’t first criticize Apple and then blatantly copy it , like the notch. There is no doubt that the design of the iMac attracts a lot of attention, so it is normal that other brands are inspired by it.
