Let’s take a closer look at Lucy, test her cleaning skills and see if she’s worth it. smart home costs for your home
Trifo Lucy: first impressions and specs
There are currently many robot vacuum cleaners on the market. If you’ve never used one of these devices before, you might find it difficult to decide which one is right for you, as most of them seem to offer the same features. It is sometimes difficult to choose between the different models of robot vacuum cleaners offered by a brand. Trifo has a different approach: this brand offers a selection of robot vacuum cleaners, each with a specific purpose.

Lucy is part of the Trifo family which offers robot vacuums designed specifically for your needs. Emma is the entry-level robot vacuum for those who don’t want to pay for extra features. Ollie is a vacuum designed for pet owners, and the Max model is a full-featured home monitoring robot vacuum. Finally, if you want to have a bit of everything, Lucy is the most advanced and balanced model in the entire Trifo family.
Lucy is a smart robot cleaner/vacuum that uses advanced artificial intelligence to get smarter over time. This means that the more you use Lucy around your home, the more she will learn about her surroundings, which should make the cleaning process more efficient.
Another feature that sets Lucy apart is the dual camera system. The 1080P HDR color camera with a Time-of-Flight (ToF) depth camera is used for Visual Simultaneous Location Mapping (VSLAM) navigation and smart home mapping. This means that Lucy is extremely good at detecting various objects on your floor (whether big or small) and won’t get stuck in small spaces around your house. These cameras can only be used to monitor your home while you are away and keep an eye on your pets.

Trifo’s Lucy also comes with a mopping function, but it’s hard to call this model the best cleaning robot because of the small water tank it has to fill during cleaning sessions. We will come back to this later. But first, here’s a full list of specifications for the Trifo Lucy robot vacuum.

Design and unboxing
Trifo Lucy follows the same proven robot vacuum design that all brands use to date: it has a circular plastic housing, three wheels, a rolling main brush and a side brush. In Lucy’s case, the entire body of the robovac is black (glossy top with matte sides) and a gold ring with two buttons and a logo in the center. One button sends Lucy to the charging base and the other is the power button.

One problem with Trifo Lucy being black and shiny is that it easily picks up dust and pet hair from the floor. However, the black and gold color scheme gives it a premium look.
The top of the robovac is also plastic. You can open the lid to see the same buttons inside, along with a few other items. The biggest is a trash can (or dustbin) that you can easily pull out and empty by releasing the button below. There is also a reset button that you can use to factory reset your Trifi Lucy. WiFi LED light and USB-A charging port.
On the front side of the device you will find the contact sensors and two cameras for day and night vision.
The bottom of the Trifo Lucy contains the usual charging pins, a tracking sensor, a rolling brush and a side brush.
What’s in the box

The first thing you’ll notice about your Trifo Lucy is its premium packaging. While this vacuum isn’t cheap, you can clearly see why you’re paying your money here. Upon unboxing, here is what you will find inside the box:
- Trifo Lucy robot vacuum cleaner
- Charging base with a charging cable
- Removable water tank
- Reusable microfiber pads (for wet mopping)
- How to use the manual on a Trifo Lucy envelope
The total weight of the package is approximately 13 pounds or 6 kg.
cleaning performance

The main purpose of a robot vacuum is to forget about vacuuming or mopping floors, as the robovac can perform these processes automatically without your interference. Before this happens, you need to set up your Trifo Lucy and introduce it into your home environment.
Configuration and mapping
The setup process with Trifo Lucy is simple and similar to other robot vacuums. Once you’ve unboxed Lucy, plug in the charger and charge your device using the charging cradle. In the meantime, you’ll need to download the app, create an account, and sync Trifo Lucy with your home WiFi. Once Trifo Lucy is fully charged, you open the app and start mapping your home.
Most mapping robot vacuums use LiDAR laser technology for mapping, while Lucy uses a camera to create a floor plan of her home. This technology is called Visual SLAM and is considered more comprehensive for capturing information about the robot’s environment. This means that Lucy’s ability to avoid objects in front of her is superior to devices using LiDAR.
Vacuuming and general cleaning
There are a few factors that make Trifo Lucy a superior cleaning tool. These are mainly the maximum suction power of 4000 Pa (on average 2700 PA for most modern robovacs) and a heavy dustbin of 600 ml. Considering that the trash can does not empty automatically, its large size means you only have to worry about emptying the trash can once a week or so.

The combination of a rotating brush and a side brush will do an excellent job of cleaning the hard floors in your home, even on a standard suction setting. If you need Trifo Lucy to clean up big messes and pick up pet hair and debris, you’ll need to crank up the suction power to max. The same goes for cleaning rugs and carpets. For thorough cleaning, we also recommend activating the edge cleaning function in the app (edge wiping). Makes Lucy work harder around furniture and along walls.
Cleaning the Trifo Lucy itself is simple. Open the lid, remove and empty the bin. Next, turn your robot vacuum over, remove the rotating brush and remove any tangled hair. You can also clean and wipe the body of the robot vacuum cleaner with a soft cloth.
The function of the mop
Trifo Lucy comes with a mop function that allows wet cleaning. A useful feature when you spill something on your floor and need to clean up the stain. However, the Trifo Lucy’s water tank is only 100ml, which means you’ll probably need to fill it up once or twice before Lucy covers your whole house. This isn’t ideal if you’re looking to fully automate your cleaning.

On the plus side, you get several reusable mop pads that are easy to clean afterwards. Simply remove the cloth and put it in the washing machine. Although the mopping function is not the Trifo Lucy’s strong point, it still does an adequate job when it comes to cleaning. And if you do regular cleaning sessions, Lucy is perfectly capable of keeping your home clean and dust-free.
low battery mode
You don’t have to worry about keeping your robot vacuum fully charged at all times. When the battery level drops to 15%, Trifo Lucy automatically returns to the charging station to recharge. Once fully charged, the robovac resumes cleaning as scheduled.
Home Security and Software Features
Trifo Lucy uses a mobile app called Trifo Home, where she can see all the robot vacuum controls, create a cleaning schedule, and adjust other settings.
Trifo Home app
Upon installation, the app will ask for a standard set of permissions, such as allowing you to send notifications to your phone. It’s useful, and we recommend enabling it that way Lucy can send you alerts if she catches an intruder in your home while you’re away.
The app will then ask you to create an account and add Lucy to your device list to get started.

Navigating through the settings, you’ll find several cleaning modes and the ability to schedule cleaning sessions, maintenance statistics that show alerts in case any of the robot vacuum’s parts need to be replaced, and the mode Do Not Disturb (DND) to prevent Lucy from turning on. while you sleep, as well as the cleaning history which shows you the areas Lucy has cleaned and the cleaning time.
After running the robovac for the first time, you’ll find a map in the app where you can name different areas of your home and create no-go areas for Lucy to avoid.

One of Trifo Lucy’s coolest features is manual control: you can upload your home video and use the app to control the robot vacuum remotely. You can also save these images. To switch to manual control, select start video at the bottom of the app. This will open the camera and you can see your house from Lucy’s point of view.

In addition to recording this footage, you can switch between Day Yes Night time view and mute and unmute the microphone.
Trifo Lucy: the security camera
Thanks to the motion detection function, you can use Trifo Lucy as a security camera. When motion detection is enabled, you’ll receive a notification on your phone along with a photo of what (or who) the robot vacuum has captured moving in front of the camera. This could be used both to keep an eye on your home and to monitor your pets when you are away.

Speaking of pets, you can also use the built-in microphone to play with them from a distance or to (try to) calm them down if you see them on camera doing a mess.
Should you buy the Trifo Lucy robot vacuum cleaner?
Trifo Lucy is not the perfect cleaning solution for all problems. If you are looking for the best combination of vacuum and mop, Trifo Lucy might not be the best option for you, as the mop function is rather a small add-on here. However, there are many reasons why you should buy Trifo Lucy.
If you’ve used a robot vacuum before, like roborock or Roomba, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by Lucy’s different design, unique features, and new capabilities. If you have a pet and want to keep an eye on your little furry friend when you’re away from home, Lucy is also a great option for you. All in all, it’s a powerful robot vacuum that would make a perfect gift for loved ones or yourself.
