MacBook Pro Specs 2023: More recently, Apple updated its more cheap MacBook pro 13 and MacBook Air. Both computers received a new M2 processor. And the Air is brand new.
Professional style design: An angular body and a cutout for the front camera on the screen. Now comes the turn of the next two models in Apple’s laptop lineup. These are the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16. These two models are currently available with M1 Pro and M1 Max processors. They provide these computers with excellent performance.
MacBook Pro Specs 2023
The MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 are some of the sleekest laptops on the market.
Judging by the latest information, Cupertino is readying the next generation of its most powerful laptops. MacBook Pro 14 and 16 will get the new M2 Pro and M2 Max processors. Let’s see what kind of performance the new laptops will deliver and when we can expect them to come out.
MacBook Pro 14 on M2
Many hoped there would be a rejection of the notch in the display. But, most likely, this trend will soon affect the MacBook Pro 13.
Right after WWDC 2023, when Apple presented a new M2 processor, rumors spread about the expansion of the line of branded chips. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the following computer models will be presented in the case of the M2:
- Mac Mini on M2 and M2 Pro.
- MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 on M2 Pro and M2 Max.
- Mac Pro on M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme.
For the first time, the Extreme processor will appear in the line. There are no details about him yet, so he will wait for the presentation. But the last two non-updated laptop models are the most interesting at the moment – the MacBook Pro 14 and the MacBook Pro 16.
For those waiting for these laptops to be redesigned and the notch removed from the screen, I hasten to disappoint. According to Gurman, the design and general characteristics of the devices will remain unchanged. In fact, to expect a change in their appearance would be very strange.
The new design was only introduced last fall. Apple added a large number of ports to the device, returned MagSafe Charger, and installed new screens and an improved webcam. And as we know, such things have been exploited in Cupertino for over a year.
Therefore, you will have to support the “eyebrow” on the screen or use external monitors.
What users are most interested in is the performance of new solutions. By trials M2 main processor, installed in the MacBook Pro 13, in a single-core test, the result is 11.5% higher than that of the M1.
The numbers don’t seem to matter that much. But here you need to pay attention to the multi-core test. Performance in this situation increased by 19.45%. This is already more than a serious difference.
It can be assumed that the performance difference between the M1 Pro and M1 Max compared to the M2 Pro and M2 Max will be roughly on the same level. But there are doubts about it because the M1 Pro and M1 Max are very powerful solutions and it is unlikely that Apple will create such a big difference between the different generations of devices. I expect a performance increase of around 10%.
Mark Gurman separately notes that Cupertino will rely on next-gen graphics performance. Which is perfect for professional users who focus on complex work with video or 3D graphics.
What is difficult to talk about exactly at the moment is the release date of the updated laptops. Due to ongoing supply chain issues, it is difficult to predict exactly when they will hit store shelves. Therefore, Gurman assumes the release of these devices from fall 2023 to spring 2023.
MacBook Pro 14 – price
MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 displays have reference color reproduction.
If you need a new laptop right now, I advise you to pay attention to the current versions of the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 on the M1 Pro and M1 Max processors. First, decide on the diagonal of the screen. Both versions are equipped with excellent Liquid Retina XDR display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, perfectly calibrated for any graphic work.
Of course, it will not be difficult to determine the size. It is much more difficult to understand which processor is suitable for your tasks. The M1 Max is designed from the ground up for heavy graphics and video work. It features a 10-core processor, up to 32 GPU cores, supports up to four monitors, and can process up to seven video streams in 8K format.
The M1 Pro has less impressive capabilities: up to 10 CPU cores, up to 16 GPU cores, dual-monitor connectivity, and processing of up to 20 streams of 4K video in ProRes format. If you are not close to handling 8K resolution video, the performance of the M1 Pro processor will be sufficient for your tasks.
The main thing you need to understand is that any version of this laptop will be a very expensive solution. It is worth buying if you really need such features. For normal internet browsing and light photo editing in Photoshop, the MacBook Pro 13 is just fine, and maybe even Macbook Air. Therefore, before buying, I advise you to accurately determine the need for such power.
All of these builds will give you performance for a long time, so before you buy, be sure to analyze your computer usage and choose the configuration you really need.
