LG Velvet Review: features, reviews and price

The LG high-end mid-range that everyone was waiting for is official. The company has just announced the LG Velvet in South Korea almost by surprise. We were talking about this device weeks ago because it represents a very significant change in the company and the way it does things. The LG Velvet is the first interesting mid-range that comes from the company. Of course, in many ways it doesn’t look like a mid-range device, but a high-end device. We already know all the details of design and characteristics of this LG Velvet.

LG Velvet Review: Design, the most important asset of this new device

LG Velvet Review

Yes, the most striking thing about the device is the radical design change. No company terminal looks like this new LG Velvet. It comes with a curved display, with a notch, and with flat top and bottom bezels. The back is in glass and also plays with the curves to finish in a few very thin metal frames.

This rear part houses a triple camera without single module this gives it a differential touch. It is quick and easy to describe the design of this device, but for this reason we cannot say that it is just another device. LG hit the nail on the head and finally offers a design line in line with the current market.

The design of this LG Velvet is completed by stereo speakers, a USB C input and a button on the left frame dedicated to the Google Assistant. It will be available in several colors: white, black, green and a double tone between pink and yellow.

Features of the LG Velvet, it has everything to succeed in the mid-range

LG Velvet Review

This new device not only has a spectacular design, its list of features is renewed and has little to do with that of the company’s previous terminals. Offers maximum power in the mid-range, a high-quality screen and a promising camera. We can’t say that it is asserting itself as the best mid-range on the market, but it has the votes to be.

  • 6.8-inch Full-Vision Cinema Display in FullHD +
  • 20.5: 9 format and 60Hz refresh rate
  • Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 765
  • 8 GB RAM memory
  • 128 GB internal storage
  • Triple rear camera:
    • 48 MP main sensor
    • 8 MP wide-angle sensor
    • 5 MP depth sensor
  • 16 megapixel front camera
  • Metal and glass body
  • USB C and fingerprint sensor under the screen
  • Support for 5G, Wi-Fi, GPS, BT …
  • 4,300 mAh battery
  • Android 10

Some details have not been confirmed, such as the support fast charging or more details on the camera sensors. Still, you can’t deny that this is one of the more interesting midranges around. It offers a very neat design and a sufficient feature list for 90% of current users.

LG Velvet price and availability

LG Velvet Review

LG has already announced the LG Velvet price in South Korea. It is a device which arrives for 899 800 KRW, which in exchange are 680 euros or 734 dollars. That’s a steep price for a device with a high-end mid-range chip, but we’ll have to see how LG handles pricing in other parts of the world.

You have to wait to know the details of the marketing of the LG Velvet to the rest of the world. Without a doubt, we are faced with an interesting device that we would like to see in the West. It’s unclear whether or not that will happen at this time.
