The benefits of this feature, of course, lie on the surface. It is possible to see the time, information about widgets and some notifications without activating the screen.

But this mode also has its drawbacks. In my opinion, they far outweigh any benefits:

Most likely, in any case, you will have to turn on the screen and display the necessary information in a more familiar way. The following follows from this point.

In addition, each notification activates the screen, and there is no need to activate AoD to read the notifications.
- Disabling widgets on the lock screen. iOS16 brought widgets to iPhone lock screens. Naturally, the information about them needs to be updated.
