Unfortunately, no Apple product has a history of copied data, including the iPhone. If you copy several texts or photos at once, the smartphone will save only the latest data to the clipboard. - Download SwiftKey, open it and go through the setup process.
- Go to iPhone Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > New Keyboards and select SwiftKey. Allow full access to the app.
- Click the globe or emoji icon and change your keyboard to SwiftKey instead of Apple’s built-in keyboard.
Third-party keyboards have more features but generally aren’t very pretty.
- Copy the text or link to your iPhone which is saved in the iOS clipboard.
- Open any app or screen where the SwiftKey Keyboard appears and tap the “+” icon.
- On the clipboard menu, click Save. Now, this text will stay forever on the SwiftKey keyboard.
This method is suitable for people who boldly change their habits and can easily switch to an alternative keyboard for iPhone. Using these utilities will be especially useful if you have suggestions that you always respond to, such as email.

There are third-party apps that make it easier to work with a clipboard on iPhone. Just opening the app automatically saves your current copied data. You don’t have to do anything else. One of those apps was Onboard. Here’s how to use it:
- Download OneBoard. The app is free.
- Copy any text that will be saved to the iOS clipboard.

- Open Onboard and click Clipboard. The application automatically saves the content of your text.
- To access this data, open Onboard and click on one of the entries. It is immediately copied and you can paste it anywhere.
Unfortunately, the program is only available in English, but this will not create any problems when using it, since the application has only two buttons. There is a similar app called Clipboard which not only lets you save copied recordings but also edit them.
How to Use Handoff on iPhone?
Handoff lets you copy the text on one device and paste it on another
Despite the fact that Apple has not taken care of its users by not adding to their device’s clipboard history, the company has created Handoff, a feature for universal access to data copied to iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. To use Handoff between Apple devices, you must:
- Make sure each device is signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID. Each device is Bluetooth and Wi-Fi compatible.
- On a Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences > General.
- Check the “Allow transfer between this Mac and your iCloud devices” box.
- On your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff and turn on Handoff.
Now you can start working on one device, then switch to another, which is nearby, and continue working at the same location. The transfer also allows copying something on iPhone and immediately pasting it onto Mac and vice versa.
Maybe one day Apple will add clipboard history to make it even easier to use the company’s technology.
