How to Log Out of Twitter?

This article explains How to Log Out of Twitter and switch accounts on desktop and mobile. It also covers how to sign out of all sessions from the Twitter website.

  • On the Twitter website, click the down arrow next to your profile picture, then select Logout @username > Logout.
  • In the app, tap your profile icon, select Settings, and privacy > Account > Sign out > OK.
  • Exit all sessions by pressing More > Settings and privacy > Apps and sessions > Sign out of all other sessions > Sign out.

How to Log Out of Twitter on Desktop?

Logging out of Twitter on the website is easy once you know where to look (the button is easy to miss).

  1. go to the site Web from Twitter.
  2. If you’re logged in, you should see your Twitter feed.
  3. Under the menu on the left, below the Tweet button, You’ll see your profile picture, account name, and Twitter username.
  4. Click the down arrow next to it.
  5. Select Sign out @Username.
  6. Click Sign out in the pop-up message.

In a mobile browser, go to twitter.com and tap on your profile picture. Scroll through the menu and tap Sign Out at the bottom.

How to Close All Sessions on Twitter?

You can also close all other sessions for security and privacy reasons, for example, if you have connected on a shared or public computer. This option is only available on the desktop version of Twitter.

  1. go to the site Web from Twitter.
  2. Click More in the menu on the left of the screen.
  3. Choose Setting and privacy.
  4. click on Bill if it is not already selected.
  5. Under Data & Permissions, select Apps & Sessions.
  6. Scroll past the list of apps and click Close all other sessions. Below is a list of your Twitter sessions.
  7. Click Sign out in the pop-up window. The next time you want to use Twitter in you telephone or on another device, you will have to go back to log in.

How to Log Out of Twitter from the Mobile App?

Log out of your account when using the app Twitter (The screenshots below are from the version of Android) is relatively easy.

  1. Open the app on your telephone.
  2. Tap your profile icon. (In some android phones you will see a hamburger menu icon.)
  3. Choose Setting and privacy.
  4. Press Bill.
  5. Scroll down and tap Sign off.
  6. Click OK on the popup message.

Switch between accounts on the Twitter website

If you have more than one Twitter account or manage one for a brand or other entity, you can add it to your profile so you can quickly switch between them. To add an existing account:

  1. go to the site Web from Twitter.
  2. If you have logged in, you should see your Twitter feed.
  3. Click the down arrow next to your profile picture in the menu on the left, below the Tweet button.
  4. Select Add an existing account.
  5. Enter your username and password on the next screen and click Sign In.
  6. Now that menu under the Tweet button will include Manage account and a list of connected accounts. Select the account you want to use; come back here for toggle between all of them.

In a mobile browser, go to twitter.com, and touch your profile icon. Tap the plus sign, then tap Add an existing account. Sign in to that account. When you want to switch accounts, tap your profile icon to open the menu, then tap your other profile icon.

Switch Twitter account in the app

In the mobile app, you can add an existing account or create a new one on the fly. The screenshots below are from Android, but the instructions are similar on iOS.

  1. Open the app on your telephone.
  2. Tap your profile icon (on some android phones you will see a hamburger menu icon).
  3. Tap the down arrow next to your username at the top.
  4. Choose Add an existing account.
  5. Enter the Username and the password of your other Twitter account.
  6. Touch the icon of your profile to return to your other account.
