Apple Pencil is not working: Not so long ago I became the proud owner of an iPad Air 4: the tablet turned out really cool, although it did not have normal cases. But it supports Apple Pencil 2nd version, however, I’m still not sure if I need this expensive accessory, but I already know for sure that it’s quite flimsy.
As usual, you can always learn interesting nuances about Apple devices from our Telegram chat, especially about the Apple Pencil. One of our Telegram chat readers complained that after the fall the iPad stopped seeing him. Let’s try to understand what can be done for Apple Pencil connected to a tablet and see if it can be fixed.
Apple Pencil is not Working: Is there a way to solve this problem
Good evening! Yesterday I dropped Apple Pensil 2 and today I found out that the tablet doesn’t see it, has anyone come across this?
Charging the Apple Pencil battery
Sometimes batteries in smart devices behave strangely. Even after the fall. So try charging your Apple Pencil if it won’t connect to your iPad and leave it for about an hour. Depending on the model, the stylus is charged in different ways: from the first generation device, you need to remove the back cover and connect it to the iPad, and the second – attach it to the iPad.
Also, try charging it via cable or another iPad. After that, try to check its charge through the widget on the main iPad screen – it should appear and the charge will be displayed next to it. Also, try going to Settings and selecting “Apple Pencil”. Didn’t help? Pass.
Connect an Apple Pencil
Maybe after the fall Apple Pencil lost pairing with the iPad, so you can remove it from the device list and try to connect again. To make it easy.
- Open Settings, and select Bluetooth.
- In the list, click on your Apple Pencil, and select Forget This Device.
- After that turn, the Bluetooth off, and turn it back on.
- Turn Bluetooth back on and find your Apple Pencil.
If that doesn’t work, try holding Apple Pencil charging or connecting it to another iPad. It’s a shame Apple Pencil not working with iPhone – so you can always check its performance. Unfortunately, Apple has put a lock on the hardware level, so do not expect miracles.
Tip for Apple Pencil
Working with a tablet is convenient, but the tip of the Apple Pencil is a consumable. If you’ve ever noticed that the iPad’s screen contact has gotten noticeably worse, try replacing it.
Of course, this does not affect the connection of the Pencil to the iPad, but because of this, the Apple Pencil can be connected but does not work at all. So be careful: just run your finger over it – if you feel the line has become rough, change it immediately. This way you can avoid problems with your Apple Pencil.
Apple Pencil broke
Unfortunately, it can also happen that your Apple Pencil will fail. It is impossible to repair it: the device cannot be carefully disassembled and reassembled due to a large amount of glue inside and the tight arrangement. And what needs to be changed there is also not very clear. True, this is not so easy to do: let the first, let the second generation be very strong – there is even a crash test in pencil.
But just because it can’t be split into two halves doesn’t mean the internal modules can’t be damaged by a normal drop to the ground. Just like with a smartphone: if it’s been dropped and there isn’t a scratch on it, that doesn’t mean you’re lucky.
On the other hand, the original Apple Pencil has many analogs on Ali, so in case of failure it is easy to replace it: I personally liked this cool analog from Peilinc. It fits most iPad models and has a magnetic charger reminiscent of the iPod Shuffle cable.
It lasts for 8 hours of active use and in standby mode, it can work for up to 90 days. In general, everything is the same, only 10 times cheaper. Maybe I’ll try.
